This is so awful! I left around 1am. I don't even know what to say...what a horrible night.

Everyone is ok for the most part. It was really freaky. 3 younger males robbed us with guns and beat a few of us. I was kicked but not beaten as badly as my co workers. One kid shot my friend Tim on his way out. It was intense.

I'm happy that no one was killed, shots fired is bad news. I am happy to hear the details as they were not giving any anywhere else. I'm glad you're all right man, it didn't sound like the dude who got shot had too threatening of injuries. Gotta get these fools some justice!!

A gunshot to the chest is no bullshit if you ask me, please let me know if we can help Tim out in ANY way possible. Is it confirmed whether or not he has insurance?

Despite how horrible it all was, I'm extremely glad to hear that no one was killed. I recently moved to a new place close to The Meanwhile and having something like this happen in your backyard is very disheartening.

the more i think about it, insurance or not this guy is gonna need help. there will be a deductible as well as days missed from work recovering from GETTING SHOT.

If the meanwhile isn't already planning something, i think we could just pick a day where we all show up at the Meanwhile, have a drink and throw some money in a collection for Tim. This is important for two reasons:

a) it helps out a poor guy who didn't ask to get shot in the chest at work

and

b) shows our support for the meanwhile as a place owned and operated by people we love and respect. The Meanwhile IS a safe place. this is a fluke that could have happened anywhere else. It didn't and that is horrible, but that doesn't change anything about the Meanwhile.

I think its as easy as setting a day, announcing it, showing up with a sign and a bucket.

Friends-

As many of you have heard, The Meanwhile Bar was robbed last night at approximately 3:30am. Three staff were still in the bar as well as a couple of friends. One of the friends was shot.


We are so relieved and grateful that everyone is okay, and the gentleman who was shot has already been released from the hospital.


Three young adults, two with guns, perpetrated the crime, and left behind a great deal of evidence as to their identity. The police are hopeful they will make an arrest soon.


Thank you to everyone for their support and kind thoughts. We have already met with detectives and officers. We are all working together on a plan to make the Meanwhile even safer. We believe this was an isolated event. Police will be patrolling the area regularly, we will have extra staff on duty, and are looking into a security company.


Our staff involved did an amazing job and are amazing people. We thank them for that.


Please continue to support our business through this really difficult time. We need your business more than ever. We may be opening slightly late today, but will definitely be open by 7pm.
